ECONOMICS UP CLOSE

The RWI Leibniz Institute for Economic Research considers it a very important task to familiarize young people with the topics and methods of economics, to promote understanding of economics and, above all, to explain current economic contexts. For this reason, we launched "Ökonomie hautnah - Wirtschaft erleben" in 2017, an innovative and dialog-oriented student event in which economics-related topics and issues are discussed, reflected on and presented by upper secondary school students together with RWI researchers.
In an interactive program, the RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research would like to bring topics and issues of economics closer, reduce fear of contact and show where economics plays a role in everyday life.
This year's event will take place on Tuesday, 8 July 2025, at the "Haus der Technik" in Essen. Interested secondary school pupils and their teachers can take part. Participation is free of charge and registration is now open. Please refer to the flyer for details (in German only).
